Electric Under Laminate Heating Mat / Alu-foil Heating Mat
Twin Conductor, 2.0mm Thickness (Cable Thickness - 1.5mm)

Product Description & Pictures:

FEELWARM under laminate heating system, a series of 0.5M wide electric alu-foil heating mats, is a fantastic investment in your room's comfort adding a luxurious feel to the floors. Our under tile heating mats can be installed under the flooring covering like carpet, laminate, solid wood and vinyl, but such heating system needs a layer of self-levelling compound with appropriate thickness. Different from under tile heating mats, alu-foil heating mats can be directly installed under these floor covering.

FEELWARM under laminate heating mats with heating cables prespaced, reinforced and protected by a thin layer of alu-foil mat allows for a simple and speedy set-up, like under tile heating mats, they can also be combined and patch-worked into the room to customized the coverage. Our heating mats are specifically ideal for time-restricted environments such as residential multi-housing (living room, bedroom, etc.) and commercial units (office room, meeting room, etc). Unlike under tile heating mats, which can be installed in the wet rooms, alu-foil mats are always used for dry rooms.

Mat Sizes & Specifications:

Note: Other unconventional power rate and sizes can be customized.

Heating Cable Construction:

Available Cold Tail (Power Lead):

3 wire (copper) cold tail (round), 2 wire (copper) with earth braid (tinned copper) cold tail (oval).

Note: More Info of Cold Tail

Advantages:

1. Ultra-thin thickness ensures minimum floor height.
2. Twin conductor design with only one connection lead and earth shield integrated, allow easy wiring and safe operation in wet area.
3. Mat reinforced and protected by soft and sturdy alu-foil film, allows the direct installation beneath the carpet, laminate, solid wood or vinyl, etc.
4. Mat with pre-spaced heating cable and simple cut & turn design, provides simple, speedy and DIY installation and uniform heat output.
5. A large range of standard sizes which can be mixed and matched, fits the caculated floor coverage with minimum number of mats.
6. Other merits, include 100% efficient at converting electricity into heat, low initial installation fee and ongoing running costs, long lifetime, free of maintenance, special for wooden floor covering, etc.

Applications & Installations:

1. Consider the thermal insulation level of the subfloor and caculate the free floor area (FFA), then select the correct output rating and sized mat/s.
2. Ensure the subfloor soild, level and free from debris & dust. (A wooden subfloor should be reinforced with tile backer boards to be suitable for tiling.)
3. Prime the subfloor with a primer compatible with the levelling compound or tile adhesive and leave primed primer dry.
4. Test your mat/s with a multimeter or ohm meter. (Live to netural = ohms value as in above table, live to = infinity).
5. Lay out the mat/s, cut & turn, tape the loose heating cable (if have), avoid the area with permanent fittings (if have), and test the mat/s' resistance.
6. Connect cold tail, install floor sensor (supplied with thermostat), install thermostat, and test the mat/s' resistance.
7. Cover the mat/s with carpet, vinyl, laminate or solid wood, ensure heating elements, cable joint and sensor probe wire are all covered by floor covering, test the mat/s' resistance.
8. Install floor covering, test the mat/s' resistance, run your heating system.

Cautions:

1. If you are unsure our mats are suitable for your floor, please consult your floor covering manufacturer or call FEELWARM's helpline.
2. Do not cut, shorten, strain, cross the heating cables or apply the cables with staples in any circumstance. Aviod nailing through the cables and aviod installation under permanent fixtures and fittings such as refrigerator, cabinet, tub, vanity unit, toilet, sink etc.
3. FEELWARM mats are designed for primary heating provided the subfloor is properly insulated. If our mats are being installed onto the subfloor with a low thermal insulation level or without thermal insulation e.g. concrete slab, it is highly recommended that a layer of FEELWARM Insulation Boards (or Tile Backer Boards) are used prior to the installation of the heating mat in order to provide additional insulation.
4. FEELWARM mats must always be controlled by suitable thermostat with floor temperature limitation. FEELWARM thermostats are rated to 16Amps, if the total load from a combination of heating mats exceeds this, a suitably rated contactor should be used. The circuit must be protected by a RCD (30mA and upto 4.8KW) and suitably rated fuse spur or circuit breaker. Multiple mats should be wired in parallel, not in series, and a connection box will be required. All works must comply with current IEE wiring regulations and the installation must comply with Part P of the Building Regulations. All electrical works must be carried out by a certified electrician.
