FEELWARM thermostat, a very important component in underfloor heating system, controls the heating system on or off. Such device can sense the ambient temperature (room / floor) and perform actions so that the heating system is controlled and maintained near a desired setpoint.

The thermostat helps to maintain an even and constant temperature in the house. House owner can set the temperature that he would like to the house to be at via a dial (mechanical) or a digital display on the thermostat, then the thermostat monitors the ambient temperature of the air / floor and instructs the heating system to turn on of off accordingly. If the air / floor temperature is lower than the requested temperature set on the thermostat, then the thermostat will switch on the heating system to heat the room (floor), if the air / floor temperature reaches the level of the temperature set, then the thermostat will switch off the heating system to prevent the room from overheating. Using a thermostat will therefore ensure that the house stays at a regular temperature, which results in an efficient heating system that will save you bills.

More Information of Thermostat:

1. Thermostat does not speed up the rate of heating

One common misconception of the thermostat is that if you turn up the temperature setting value of the thermostat, the room will heat up quicker. The rate at which a room heats up is dependent on the output power rate of heating system, the size of the heated room, the size of heating system and finally, how well-insulated the room is.

2. The mechanical thermostat

The mechanical thermostat is a kind of current switch (ON / OFF). It usually consists of a knob and a housing which hides some moving parts. Among them, a fixed contact and a movable lever composed of two metals with separate expansion coefficients that respond to the effects of temperature change. The end of the lever will make contact with the fixed contact when room temperature is decreasing (which turns on the heating system) and detaches if the room temperature increases (which shuts off the heating system).

For mechanical thermostat, it has the slow response which may cause significant temperature variations. It means you are not setting an actual temperature, it is more of a temperature range (can be about 5 degrees above or below the desired setpoint).

If some home owners want to use a thermostat like an ON and OFF switch, in this case, the mechanical thermostats are an excellent choice. They are also much more affordable.

3. Digital thermostat

The digital thermostat consists of integrated circuits and mini fixed components. The big advantage of the digital thermostat is that it has digital sensor and LCD screen to read the room temperature, and it is much more accurate, responsive and therefore more efficient.

Unlike the mechanical thermostat, the digital thermostat is constantly in the temperature analysis mode and limits the temperature variations with 1 degree of the temperature home owner sets on the thermostat. To increase comfort and save energy, a smaller temperature swings (like 2 to 4 degrees) of digital thermostat is also allowed by advanced settings.

In the last few years, digital thermostat becomes more and more innovative and intelligent with more and more functions integrated, for example programming, touch screen, remote APP control, voice control, etc.

4. Programmable thermostat

The programmable thermostat lets you choose what times you want the heating system to be on, and what temperature it should reach while it is on. It will allow you to select different temperatures in your home at different times of the day (we call stages, periods, daily events or daily schedule) and days of the week (we call weekly programming, working days and weekend/s, 5+2/6+1/7 mode). This means you can save money and energy by not heating your home unnecessary.

5. Smart WiFi thermostat

Such thermostat allows the remote control by our smart phone through APP using 3G/4G/WiFi.

Installing our APP into the smart phone (Android / IOS), placing the phone and our thermostat in the same WiFi network (2.4G WiFi), then opening the APP and following our instructions, home owner can add our WiFi thermostat as a new device into his APP to finish the first connection as WiFi CONFIGURATION of our WiFi thermostat.

After the completeness of WiFi configuration, home owner can remotely control our thermostat wherever and whenever his phone uses 3G/4G/WiFi network. In addition the device (our WiFi thermostat) can be shared to other home members if they also installed the APP.

Such WiFi thermostat can work with Google Home and Amazon Alexa.
